A standard service where the department can host, build and maintain APIs. All DfE APIs must be hosted on an approved API management platform. Providing a central hub for API lifecycle management will enable the department to monitor API traffic, enforce security policies and improve user experience

Purpose
Consistent use of a central API management platform provides enhanced security and increased efficiency.
The platform will enable the department to streamline API operations, reduce duplication of effort and promote reusability of API integrations.
Centralising APIs brings the added value of easy access for users to a wide range of education data, enhancing the user experience.

If you are planning to develop an API, apply for access to the Find and Use an API (FaUAPI) service through Service Now.
Search the DfE IT Help Centre for Find and Use an API and apply for access by raising a request using the FaUAPI form.
